About the Role

With a strong background in Warehouse and Logistics or the Industry Sector you will be based in our Manchester office, working together with our established civil and rail teams and supported by the London based Building Structures team, you will lead and develop the Buildings team capability in the region. Currently the Buildings team have no presence in the North of England and you will be expected to shape and grow our offering in the region and expand the client base and skills in the North and nationwide.

The Buildings team specialise in creating innovative and sustainable buildings, operating in the residential, commercial office, hotel and leisure, science and education, warehouses and logistics and transport oriented development sectors.

As part of this role, you will be expected to develop new client, stakeholder, and partner relationships to exploit market and business opportunities to support growth, delivery and business sustainability whilst also managing macro risks. A number of existing clients have opportunities in the North and you will be expected to develop these relationships seeking to secure these opportunities.

You will be responsible for the delivery of projects, achieving profitable and sustainable growth, managing risk and opportunity enroute, whilst achieving client satisfaction with the services provided and outcomes delivered. You will ensure checks and approvals are carried out for the work of others as appropriate to ensure governance and oversight to assure safe, efficient and effective delivery of services. Furthermore, you will demonstrate broad and deep knowledge of their technical speciality or professional area and an understanding of its importance to the wider business, clients and other organisations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Influencing and delivering the Buildings sector strategic business plan for the region.
  • Building the Pell Frischmann Manchester and North West Structural and Civil engineering profile.
  • Working closely with the buildings leadership team and other internal leaders to maximise opportunities from existing clients, partners and frameworks.
  • Identify potential clients and liaise with the Buildings Sector Director to define market and client development strategies
  • Using networking opportunities to create new relationships and to improve knowledge and understanding of the local market.
  • Ensuring a client focused delivery of services.
  • Championing technical excellence.
  • Promoting thought leadership.

Experience required

Qualification

  • Professionally qualified and member of an appropriate professional body.

Experience

  • Min 15 years with 5 years’ experience in a client facing role
  • Strong industry profile.
  • Experience of undertaking a client facing role and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to inspire a team or group of people without direct line management responsibility (matrix business environment).
  • A good understanding of all relevant standards and Codes of Practice and Health and Safety Legislation within the construction industry.
  • 10 years’ experience in a client facing role.
