The Opportunity

Are you looking for a permanent opportunity within an established nursing teamand practice?

Medivet Bretton offers a wide range of complex diagnostic equipment and treatment options, including endoscopy and ultrasound. The team are lovely and extremely welcoming.

Thismulti-vet practice works toa high level,including:laparoscopic bitch spays, full dental suite including dental x-ray, high quality ultrasound including doppler and digital x-ray. Inaddition,the branch has a large array of surgical equipment including TPLO kit, operatingmicroscopeand full ophthalmology diagnostic tools. Our vets have a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery and have a fully equipped orthopaedic theatre.

The team is led by our knowledgeable lead veterinary surgeon Pedro who holds a BSAVA's Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. The vet team are supported by a head nurse, 2 registered nurses, 2 student nurses, a patient care assistant and 2 client care assistants.

You'llbe covering 40 hours per week covering 1:6 weekends andthere isnoout of hours with this position

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:

  • Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
  • Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
  • Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
  • Deliver patient monitoring and care.
  • Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
  • Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Dispense and check medication.
  • Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
  • Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Skills and Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
  • Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
