JERA Green drives JERA’s renewable energy business growth in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are a global renewables IPP working across the life cycle of renewables and are looking for key talent to be an active part of this exciting journey as the business grows further.

As part of our new set-up in the UK, the global headquarters for JERA Green, we are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel (M+A) for our growing team. We are looking to enhance our legal capability and to find someone who can help us deliver on our M+A/Partnership arrangements across the globe.

This role reports into the Lead Counsel Investments and Financing based in Belgium.

What you will do:

You will be joining Jera Green legal team focusing on investment (M&A) & financing matters.

You will be part of the transaction team involved in strategic (international) business development projects and provide support from a legal perspective to M&A and tender processes in all stages, from partnership discussions, performing due diligence, drafting and negotiating term sheets and definitive transaction documentation, to supporting closing and post-closing integration. You will also advise and be involved on corporate and project financings.

  • As part of this team, you will be involved on a day-to-day basis in joint venture and investment management
  • You will work closely with the business development and finance team to ensure and coordinate appropriate support
  • You will also assist in preparing relevant internal documents and presentations for the management and/or board
  • You will be a member of a dynamic legal team and will report to our or lead counsel investments & financing or general counsel

What you will have:

  • You have a university degree (Law or other) and have trained and qualified at a leading private practice firm
  • You have preferably at least 5 years of relevant professional experience as an M&A lawyer with a reputable firm and/or a legal department of an international company
  • Experience in project financing would be considered a plus
  • You are solution-oriented, pro-active and pay attention to details
  • You have the ability to manage multiple matters at the same time without losing oversight
  • You have strong diplomatic and social skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders
  • You are a team player and possess a high level of integrity
  • You have an analytical mindset
  • You have good social skills and can work efficiently in a team
  • You are flexible and willing to travel on an occasional basis
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English (additional language skills (particularly French, Dutch or Japanese ) advantageous.
