IT Systems Support Technician
We are recruiting for an IT Technician for a large UK based organisation at one of their offices in Dunfermline. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to internal staff and external partners. This role involves diagnosing hardware and software issues, installing and configuring computer systems, managing databases using SQL, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure.
The Role:
- Provide first-level support and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, software applications, network equipment, and SQL databases.
- Monitor and manage IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and communication with end-users.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Write and execute SQL queries to retrieve data, troubleshoot database issues, and support data-related requests.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve IT processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, configurations, system changes, and database management tasks.
- Assist in IT-related projects, including system deployments, network installations, and database integration's.
About You:
- 2 year's previous experience working within an IT environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, networking, SQL, and common IT applications.
- Experience with SQL databases, including query writing, troubleshooting, and basic database management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, SQL-related) are a plus.
- Full UK drivers licence and open to travel.
