Powerplant Engineer

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Layout Engineer - Reactor Island Integration with a background in Nuclear or other highly regulated sector on a staff basis, to be working hybrid but willing to attend sites/offices in either Manchester, Warrington or Derby.

The role sits within Reactor Island Layout team, responsible for the integration of key areas of the plant with regard to systems, components, operations, maintenance, architecture, construction, and assembly. Development and production of integrated mechanical and electrical plant layout solutions through concept design development and optioneering.

Deliver reactor component installation designs and attributes that meet the customer requirements in respect of performance, time & cost.

Understand the nature of the risks applicable to reactor installations and make decisions in accordance with this understanding and the programme risk.

Working alongside installation component, assemblies and CAD engineers to develop detailed layouts which meet all applicable system, component and transverse requirements.

Ensure that quality is maintained throughout the SMR project lifecycle by undertaking appropriate technical reviews and providing the required inputs to the main project technical review gates.

Support the development of product configuration and data management.
