As a Sous / 2nd Chef at Sodexo at Wavell Combined Mess, Aldershot Garrison Your culinary expertise and organizational excellence will lead an entire food and beverage production. What you’ll do:

Lead the kitchen in the absence of your senior colleagues and provide support for the production team
Direct the preparation/duties to the commis chefs, chef de parties and other kitchen staff.
Assisting/sharing in ordering, prep, stock control, to running service and clean down.
Ensuring strict adherence to all EHO guidelines and systems
improvisation and maximise the use of existing stocks where necessary.
Working with the FOH team to drive the service excellence
Work on the range with the kitchen team to train, guide and develop
Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations
Prepare, produce and present food to the highest standard

What you bring:

NVQ lv 2/3 or experience working in a busy kitchen environment
Basic IT skills, with Microsoft packages experience
Experience in menu planning and production
Exposure to bulk cooking
The enthusiasm to develop and learn new skills.
A positive and approachable manner
If you have experience in the above, but don't hold experience as a 'sous chef' we would still love to hear from you

Package Description

40 hours per week
Working any 5 out of 7 days, shifts patterns vary.
Early 06.00-14.30
Late Monday-Thursday 12.30-21.00
Late Friday 11.00-19.30 Weekends 08.30-19.00
£13.82 per hour
