Job Introduction

The Pharmaron Team is looking to expand and recruit a (Senior) Business Development Manager, DMPK with strong commercial and scientific background to sell DMPK services across the range of drug development clients in the UK and Europe region.

The candidate will generate and maintain profitable business relations with partners and promote Pharmaron as the CRO of choice to prospective clients while also managing and enhancing ongoing business relationships.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Identify potential clients for our DMPK services through market research and by working with the US and European Business Development Teams.
  • Achieve agreed sales and profit budgets/targets.
  • Identify, cultivate, manage and maintain professional relationships with clients that match the segment profile of target Pharmaron customers.
  • Qualify and generate new sales leads and opportunities, managing opportunities from point of inquiry to closing of sale.
  • Be familiar with Pharmaron capabilities at a broad level such that wider and more meaningful conversations can be held with clients and prospective clients which could also lead to further attractive commercial arrangements.
  • Be familiar with areas of work and focus undertaken by other Business Development personnel such that "cross selling" opportunities can be captured for the business.
  • Actively contribute and influence the development of a compelling Value Proposition that attracts clients to engage Pharmaron.
  • Actively and professionally promote the company, positioning it as a reputable partner to deliver high quality solutions for the client and convert enquiries of interest into profitable contracts of work.
  • Work with Pharmaron scientists to formulate business proposals and presentations based on a good understanding of resources, materials and other inputs required to deliver projects such that those proposals can be developed into profitable commercial contracts.

Requirements:

  • BSc (Hons) in Life Science or related subject is essential - MSc or PhD preferred.
  • CRO industry experience in Business Development or several years of experience at biotech or pharma companies
  • Key Account Management and in-depth knowledge of the CRO and Pharmaceutical market and environment for in vitro and in vivo ADME/DMPK
  • Can identify new business opportunities and business growth.
  • Understanding the drug development market specifically in DMPK, ADME, Bioanalysis, Biotransformation, Drug-Drug Interactions, etc
  • Financial, costing and budgeting skills for measuring, monitoring and reporting business metrics.
  • Excellent negotiating/networking skills and strong relationship management abilities.
  • Good stakeholder and relationship management
  • Additional European language would be advantageous
