Childcare Coordinator

The Childcare Coordinator will be responsible for the day to day running of the childcare setting ensuring that there is a safe, caring and welcoming environment for children and their families.

Minimum QCF/level 5 CCLD or equivalent

Two years’ experience of managing a Day care setting.

• A detailed and updated knowledge of child development and be able to demonstrate an ability to relate this to practice.

• Lead and manage the Children’s Services department in line with existing operational systems, structures and procedures in accordance with guidelines and directions issued by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety (DHSSPS) in line with the Children/s (NI) Order 1995.
• Ensuring a high standard of physical, social and intellectual education and care for children placed in the childcare setting.
• Supervision of and support to other personnel within our childcare settings.
• The day to day co-ordination of the Childcare Setting in terms of administration.

• To plan and supervise the implementation and evaluation of a child centred, age appropriate curriculum.
• To listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping and well being of children placed in the Childcare Setting.
• To contribute to the creation, maintenance and improvement of a child centred environment.
• To promote and develop childcare services within the Blackie River Centre.
• To support and supervise staff on a day-to-day basis and carry out regular staff appraisals and supervision.
