Contract: Fixed Term to 31 August 2024
We are currently seeking a skilled Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 1 diagnosed with autism. This role involves working closely with the individual pupil, as well as supporting small groups and contributing to classroom activities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting pupils with social communication difficulties, speech and language needs, and learning requirements.
Provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with autism.
Support pupils with social communication difficulties, speech and language needs, and learning needs.
Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to align support with the National Curriculum, codes of practice, and school policies.
Experience in supporting children within a school setting.
Previous experience with children with additional needs/EAL.
Familiarity with supporting pupils with various needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language difficulties.
Willingness to address medical and intimate care needs.
Knowledge of effective strategies to engage pupils with specific and significant needs.
Commitment to high achievement for pupils.
GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in Maths and English.
Ability to use initiative and a willingness to undergo training to support individual needs.
