Young Giants is a holistic and inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring service, supporting children who are temporarily out of school (alternative provision) via daytime one-to-one tuition and mentoring in a child's home or venue within their community.
As a managed education service, not a tuition agency, we remain responsible for the management and quality of education provided to each of our learners. Founded and run by qualified teachers we work closely alongside our tutors in assessing and maintaining effective and needs-based programmes of education support. Changing outcomes, changing lives and re-engaging children and young people with their education is the driving force behind our work.
Young Giants is an incredibly positive place for both our learners and our staff and we hold incredibly high tutor retention rates. Our collaborative approach ensures tutors feel safe and supported as part of a team and our learners feel heard.
We are currently seeking experienced SEN Teachers or Tutors to support learners in Gloucestershire - we are therefore looking for practitioners who are able to travel to this location. Tuition is in-person, one-to-one in a learner's home or venue within the community during the daytime.
We prioritise candidates who can commit to an agreed and fixed timetable for at least a whole academic term. Our learners need and deserve consistency and we are not able to offer tutors casual or ad-hoc hours.
Candidates must have a sound understanding of delivering tuition to young people with SEN including ASD/ASC, ADHD and SEMH. We pride ourselves on delivering creative alternatives to schools and are looking to work with tutors and mentors who are able to think creatively about learning and willing to go the extra mile for their learners.
There is a £7 travel contribution per visit to a learners location.
