Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist

West London NHS Trust are currently advertising for an Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist in our Acute Mental Health Services.
Additionally, we are offering a 20K Golden Hello (pro rata for part-time) for those in post for 2 years. The post is for a 16 bedded inpatient unit which is on the site of Charing Cross Hospital, close to all amenities of Hammersmith Broadway. If appointed, you will be joining an experienced and welcoming team of consultants, who scored above benchmarks in our recent Staff Survey. We have a clear sense of purpose and strong sense of team. We will robustly support your professional and clinical development, as well as any areas of professional interest you are keen to pursue. The ward manager and matron that you would work with are highly skilled and have recruited an excellent team of professionals to work with them. The ward is engaged in the new strategy of Positive and Caring Environments (P.A.C.E) This strategy supports the reduction of restriction by increasing the offer of positive and proactive care. The aim is to engage people cared for in mental health units in therapeutic interventions that will reduce the likelihood of crisis periods occurring that may otherwise need to be managed through the use of force We are firmly committed to reducing harm and lost quality of life from mental disorders in the populations we serve. No changes are made without including our consultant team. Person Specification Qual Essential- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
- MRCPsych
- Additional clinical qualifications
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
- GMC Specialist Register or within six months
- Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
- Good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice
- Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment
- Excellent clinical skills in Acute General Adult Psychiatry
- Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
- Excellent knowledge in speciality
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service
- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in and lead team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
- Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others
- Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership & collaborative working to deliver improvement
