We are looking to recruit Fitters based at our Kirkby-in-Ashfield/Pinxton office to join our Rail Team. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a hands-on permanent position with a dynamic and progressive company.
As a Fitter, you will be working alongside other fitters and carrying out routine preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding and repairing and onsite repairs to Van Elle’s plant machinery and equipment, including road rail plant, excavators, piling rigs, attachments, compressors, lifting accessories and small plant. Responding to electrical/mechanical breakdowns throughout the UK
Fault finding and resolving all electrical issues
Use manufacturer's technical manuals and diagrams to help locate faults
Prepare, present and accompany all rail plant, for annual inspections ensuring a first-time pass.
Carry out periodic safety inspections to all rail plant and associated assets to 0200 plant module standards.
Carry out fault diagnosis on complex hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, with a first-time fix policy.
Weekend working is a requirement.
Qualifications or experience as a Plant Mechanic/Fitter are essential (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
Flexibility to travel around the UK and hold a full, clean UK driver’s licence
Valid CSCS and PTS card
Competent in all Microsoft applications, especially office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Effective planning and organisation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
