The IT Infrastructure Architect for Information Technology Services is responsible for the design of IT Infrastructure Systems, coordinating Infrastructure Technology Projects, hands-on support of server systems, hands-on support of network switch infrastructure and assisting the Manager of Information Technology as needed. The IT Infrastructure Architect for Information Technology Services will coordinate both Server & Network hardware related integrations and act as a hands-on technical resource for infrastructure technical projects. Lead IT Projects assigned including supervising vendor resources as needed, maintaining project budgets, using a structured SDLC approach, and keeping stakeholders and the Manager of Information Technology informed regularly of status.
Supervise IT Infrastructure Support Team within the IT Division and IT Employee and Vendor resources in completion of IT Infrastructure responsibilities.
Conduct maintenance and repair on various IT Infrastructure systems, these may include: computer servers, computer network hardware systems, voice or data network communication systems, and information technology security systems/firewalls.
Work with and supervise IT employees and vendor partners/resources as needed to implement repairs.
Engage in the hands-on deployment, programming adjustment, and integration of network and server systems, including: upgrades/adjustments to VMWARE server virtualization systems, computer file storage systems, firewall appliances, web filtering appliances, application hosting servers, and Microsoft Active Directory Domain Servers.
Be on the 24/7 on-call rotation as a resource for all IT Infrastructure Systems support. Under general direction, design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure Data Center and IT Infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Design IT infrastructure and application solutions based on general direction from the Manager of Information Technology and collected requirements from customer stakeholders.
Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all Data Center and IT Infrastructure procurement and development efforts.
Test all aspects of network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining and improving network performance.
Test IT Infrastructure component performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining and improving IT Infrastructure performance.
Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
As needed provide detailed training for IT Department staff in regard to Technology
May act as the main point of contact for the IT Division in the absence of the Manager of Information Technology
 
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

 
Certification in Network Services Support is desired (example: CCNA)

 
10 years of work experience in the integration of IT Infrastructure Hardware & Software Systems including: Servers, Storage Area Networks, Firewall Appliances, Network Switch Solutions, VOIP Phone Systems, VMware Server Systems and Microsoft Windows Servers.
Must have experience with VMware, Microsoft Server and Microsoft Active Directory.
Must have experience with Dell Servers, Dell Storage Area Networks (EqualLogic, Unity, Powerstore).
Must have experience with enterprise level IT Infrastructure Systems and Security Appliances/Firewalls.
Must have experience with cloud-based server hoisting systems, including Amazon Web Services.
Ability to train end users on the use of IT systems.
Ability to coordinate IT Infrastructure integration projects.
Ability to provide general IT Support.
Ability to work well under pressure, with proven experience working on complex, international, large-scale, time-critical projects.
Ability to be flexible and versatile in nature, able to take on challenges while maintaining tact and professionalism.
Must be available to work on site, Full-time
Be on the 24/7 on-call rotation as a resource for all IT Infrastructure Systems support.
The IT Infrastructure Architect for Information Technology Services will be under the general supervision of the Manager of Information Technology or their designee.
