Join Our Team as a Principal Structural Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness – Enjoy the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and analysis of complex steel structures that support submarine builds. Design & Analysis: Utilize Eurocodes, British Standards, and BAE standards to create innovative solutions.
Regulatory Expertise: Technical Proficiency: Use advanced analytical techniques, including finite element analysis and CAD modeling (Abaqus, S-Frame).
Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, lifting, handling, and installation of submarine structures and components.
Quality Assurance: Oversee approvals and check analysis outputs to maintain high standards.
BEng/MEng in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or nearing CEng status, with a focus on Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineering.
Expertise in structural steel analysis and design.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering and structural steelwork.
Familiarity with ABAQUS, S-Frame Foran, MathCAD, and Excel.
Experience in a production environment, preferably in marine production.

As a Principal Engineer, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of 14 professionals, working across design and engineering functions. Together, you’ll conduct engineering assessments to support submarine builds and produce safety-critical equipment. We also offer relocation support packages for eligible candidates.
