The Deputy Director of Complex Care - Strategic Commissioning, is a pivotal role, leading the future development of the health and care market across NCL on behalf of the ICB.
The post holder will work in collaboration with system partners to shape the future of care provision and influence the shaping of the market with colleagues from across London and beyond.
The post holder will lead the development of creative commissioning solutions, which are high quality and value for money.
This role is ideally suited to an individual who has the ambition, drive, and courage to transform the health care market, ensuring we meet the needs of our residents, through delivering the aims of our organisation.
Lead the development of commissioning strategies which will deliver improved value for money through stratification of pricing, preferred provider frameworks, PHB's and Dynamic purchasing approaches (related to commissioning for adults)
Strategic lead for Market development within the care sector
To lead the brokerage function to commission health care for complex adults, ensuring VFM and high-quality placements
Develop and lead systems to ensure a robust quality assurance approach is in place across the directorate to assess and monitor all providers
Lead the enhanced care in care homes (EHCH) agenda, including transference of approach to other sectors.
Deputise for the Director of Complex Care, leading key workstreams on behalf of the Directorate.
On 1 July 2022, NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) was established. The ICB is part of North Central London Integrated Care System (ICS). The ICS is a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined up health and care services to improve the lives of people in our five boroughs: ICBs are statutory NHS bodies responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of ICSs:o to improve outcomes in population health and healthcareo tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and accesso enhance productivity and value for moneyo help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
This brings pressure and challenges for the local health and care services that NCL ICB commissions - or buys - on behalf of residents. NCL ICB works closely with Councils, providers, general practices, voluntary, community organisations, and unions, to achieve our shared aims.

Evidence of continuing professional development
