Job Description

Overview : BSC Education is looking for a Leadership and Management trainer/lecturer to work on different aspects of our ILM Level 3 Leadership and Management award and certificate course offerings. Tasks are varied from assisting in developing the curriculum, developing suitable content, training students, breaking down content for every course into deliverable sessions, and making sure all aspects syllabus and learning outcomes are covered in any content design, all while ensuring the delivery of outstanding learning experiences for participants.

You should have sound knowledge with a proven record of delivering ILM accredited Leadership and Management courses, specifically but not limited to Level 3 Awards and Certificates, with knowledge of the assessment criteria for both courses. Delivery and timing of courses will vary, requiring potential weekend and evening availability.

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to, those listed below.
Duties
  • Teach a wide range of leadership and management related topics and support student/participant learning with appropriate tutorial sessions and individualised feedback.
  • Teach high-quality lessons/workshops that are in line with the teacher handbook and accreditation criteria for your teaching level and experience.
  • Provide student tutorials as and when required.
  • Take part in the colleges’ and accreditation’s observation programme as and when required.
  • Complete all administrative tasks relating to your classes and your role in a timely manner and to a high standard, including detailed work and homework records, materials used, test results, tutorials and other relevant student information.
  • Set, mark and correct coursework, providing appropriate written and oral feedback according to our correction and feedback policy and track student progress .
  • Teach online lessons as and when required
  • Oversee the general welfare of all students/participants in your classes and refer any issues to the safeguarding officers in accordance with the safeguarding policy
  • Undertake pastoral duties as necessary and support students on an individual basis through their academic journey
  • Manage student/participant behaviour and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour in liaison with school management
  • Participation in CPD opportunities as and when available
  • Develop face to face lesson course content based on self-guided learning materials and update these learning materials regularly in accordance with industry/topic relevance and our accreditors curriculum.
  • Travel and teach onsite to businesses as necessary.
ILM Trainer and Assessor essentials:
  • ILM Leadership and Management qualification or equivalent
  • Previous ILM training delivery / assessing experience
  • 2+ years’ experience of assessing recognised qualifications
  • Substantial experience of delivering high quality training programmes to a variety of audience types
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering learning that leads to improvements in performance
  • Engaging, inspirational and professional presentation style with strong group facilitation skills
  • Able to adapt delivery style to meet the needs and expectations of the audience
  • Ability to work seamlessly with PowerPoint, online quizzes, collaboration and other learning tools
  • Sound understanding of the needs and expectations of modern learners on ILM qualifications
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently assess student submissions in line with awarding organisation standards
  • Ability to monitor, assess and report on progress and needs of students and provide developmental feedback with a genuine passion for helping others learn
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite
Desirable qualifications:
  • Recognised qualification in training delivery at level 3 with a willingness to achieve level 5 within two years

  • Professional Experience
  • Experience of working in a marketing environment/ Experience of management (of projects and/or of staff) in a marketing environment
  • Prior experience as a trainer or a similar position.

  • Learning / Teaching
  • Proven experience of recent excellence in teaching identified by peer review
  • Experience of module and / or programme leadership
  • Experience of developing innovative module/programme content and delivery methods
  • Online and blended learning / teaching experience
  • Experience in OR proven ability in teaching digital marketing and marketing communications
