Location: South Shields

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP46,525 per annum



GSL Education are looking to appointa Qualified English Teacher to work with clients schools in South Shields , starting immediately. As an English Teacher , you will be teaching GCSE pupils a mixture of English Language and English Literature . This a great opportunity for Teachers looking for a flexible work-life balance, or those simply wanting a new experience.

Responsibilities Teacher of English:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Literature and Language lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • To put into practice and present a curriculum that is suitably wide, balanced, pertinent, and differentiated for students and to support a specific curriculum area as necessary.
  • Communicate with parents, teachers, and students, and uphold positive relationships with all of them.
  • Manage high levels of student attainment through strong leadership and supervision.
  • To continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods.

Requirements Teacher of English:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and specialise in teaching English Language and Literature to GCSE standard.
  • Have at least 6 months of prior teaching experience which can be referenced from within the last 2 years (placements can be referenced for NQTs or ECTs).
  • Be a motivational and innovative teacher, able to engage students of all abilities.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be open to completing additional training if required.
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS, registered on the update service, or be willing to obtain one.
