We need you to come and play a key part in managing our flagship countryside site DawlishWarren National Nature Reserve for wildlife and people.
One of the most important sites for wildlife in Europe, Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserveis a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Special Area of Conservation, and forms a key partof the Exe Estuary Special Protection Area and Ramsar Site. Hosting hundreds of flowering plantspecies, thousands of birds and invertebrates, the Warren and its habitats are exceptional.
In addition to this, Dawlish Warren is a significant tourist resort and is a destination forvisits from schools and universities from across the country. The role involves ensuring a site presence across weekends and bank holidays on a rota thatoperates on a 3-week cycle.

Degree in countryside management (or equivalent experience and theoretical knowledge).
Substantial experience in Warden/Ranger-type role including leading a team and volunteers,forward planning work programmes and implementing safe systems of work.
Experience of managing species and habitats for nature conservation and practical aptitudeto construct and install countryside furniture.
Good bird/wildlife identification skills and the patience to observe and monitor.
Adaptability to work in all weathers and work on a rota basis covering weekends, earlymornings, and late evenings.
A valid UK driving licence.
