Graduate Estimator
Are you an Engineering graduate with a sandwich year in industry or a couple of years of experience, looking for an open door to grow your career? If so, this is the perfect opportunity to step into a varied, rewarding role as an Estimator that’ll give you hands-on experience and growth within an employee-owned company. As an Estimator, your day-to-day is dynamic and full of opportunity. You’ll be working on projects ranging from £200k to £30 million+. The process starts with an enquiry from the Sales Manager, then passes to the Design Engineer for initial sketches. From there, it’s in your hands—piecing it all together, costing every part and process. You’ll collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Engineering, and Projects, as well as sub-contractors, to ensure everything is accounted for and the costings are accurate before they're refined into the proposal and passed on to the customer. What’s truly exciting about this role as a Graduate Estimator is the products. They’re complex, often bespoke, and built to thrive in extreme environments. You’ll see your work come to life as each project progresses from estimation to completion. The rigorous testing process means every man-hour counts, and it’s your attention to detail that ensures costs are spot-on. Working here as a Graduate Estimator isn’t just a role—it’s a learning journey. You’ll be surrounded by a supportive team with decades of experience, all there to help you develop into an expert in your field. Working in an open-plan office filled with creativity and ideas, it’s an ideal environment for someone who wants to grow, learn, and contribute. You’ll need to be able to read drawings, and if you can use AutoCAD or Inventor 3D, that’s a plus, though not essential. What matters most is your willingness to learn and your keen eye for detail. And it’s not just about today—this is a role where your voice matters. As part of an employee-owned company, you’ll have a say in the business’s future and a share in its success. When the business thrives, you do too. Perks include:
- Competitive salary of £32-£35k
- Early finish every Friday at 12 PM
- 33 days of holiday, including bank holidays
- Profit-sharing in a business with a £20 million turnover
- Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM
- Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
