Flood Risk Modeller

Flood Risk Modeller – Yorkshire/Cumbria – to £65,000 (DOE) – Hybrid role

A Yorkshire based, award-winning building design consultancy has a fantastic opportunity for a Flood Risk Modeller / Hydraulic Modeller to take a lead role in hydraulic modelling and take full control.

As a Flood Risk Modeller you will play a pivotal role in building and managing a team around where you will be responsible for establishing best practices, driving innovation in projects related to water systems and infrastructure. Using your extensive experience, you will have the ability to produce and run 1D/2D hydraulic models, Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Alleviation Schemes and Drainage Strategies on a wide range of schemes using Hydraulic software packages (of your choice) where you will work with Engineers and Technicians to deliver projects that meet client requirements whilst providing technical support to others.

You will have a degree in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering or equivalent with substantial post-qualification experience, ideally a member of CIWEM or working towards, have demonstrable experience in delivering Flood Alleviation schemes, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies coupled with solid knowledge of the regulatory system to ensure that designs and projects comply with laws and regulations. You will be proficient in engineering software tools, such as Autocad, ArcGIS and Hydraulic Modelling software (e.g., Infodrainage, Flow, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, Flood M Modeller) and have project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation)

This is an exceptional role where significant investment is made on the individual from day one with regards to laptop/phone etc, full and ongoing training and development with a salary of £60-65,000 and a relocation payment for the successful candidate, a pension scheme (6% company contribution), 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays (option to purchase up to 10 additional days), superb maternity leave package, 4% salary increase pa, cycle2work scheme, online voucher discount portal (retailers, shopping, days out, or nights in).

Although hybrid, this role can be based in Yorkshire, Cumbria, Durham, Northallerton, Leeds, Otley, Penrith, Kendal, Middlesborough, Stockton-on-Tees, Skipton, Bradford, Wetherby, Harrogate, York, Selby, Darlington
