Dunbar Education is working with a primary school in Bishop's Stortford to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The school we are working with are a Ofsted rated 'Good' school and hold professional training for internal progression. We are looking for someone that has experience as a HLTA already or has the relevant qualifications & previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in Primary Education (minimum of 6 months in a UK school). Overview of the Role: Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver lessons across various subjects. Lead small group and whole-class sessions in the teacher's absence, ensuring learning objectives are met. Provide targeted support to pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN), to help them progress and achieve their potential. Assist in assessing pupil progress, giving feedback, and adapting lesson plans where necessary. Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, productive learning environment. Support teachers with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources. Contribute to the wider school community by supporting school events and activities.Requirements: Relevant HLTA qualification or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant with leadership responsibilities. Confidence in leading lessons and working independently with pupils. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with pupils, staff, and parents. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of pupils, including those with SEN.
