On behalf of our client, a well established company that operates in the FMCG space, we are seeking an Area Sales Manager, to collaborate closely with and report to the Commercial Director in managing and expanding existing business in the UK and European markets, maximizing sales potential through designated distributors and Thai Channel outlets, and identifying new opportunities for the assigned brands.
The selected candidate will have experience working with FMCG products, as well as either experience working with the Thai market, or a very good understanding of Thai culture. Oversee current business in assigned markets by developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies, preparing and tracking performance against budgets, and reviewing and preparing regular reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly). Stay informed about and contribute to the development of UK Thai channel strategies.
Establish communication with key restaurant and retail outlets to achieve sustainable brand listings.
Plan visits to key accounts.
Work with the Commercial Director to formulate and implement long-term strategies and short-term tactics for market routes.
Collaborate with Channel & Brand marketing teams to develop country plans for key markets.
Work alongside the Marketing Manager to help shape the E-Commerce strategy.
Utilize available resources to educate distributors and consumers, building brand awareness through festivals, events, and other consumer-facing shows.
Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute the global brand strategy, covering product portfolio, pricing, channels, sales, marketing activities, PR, events, and education, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and standards.
Act as the Company’s brand ambassador in assigned markets, attending key events and consumer-focused trade shows in the territory and working with distributors to enhance brand awareness. Participate in public relations activities and field sales visits with distributors.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of market, commercial, and customer information.
Make commercial decisions regarding promotional support packages offered to customers/potential customers within predefined guidelines.
Manage and motivate direct reports within the Thai Sales team in accordance with company policies, ensuring the implementation and adherence to relevant HR procedures, including engagement and performance management.
Take charge of your professional development to achieve work objectives, career aspirations, and personal goals.

Extensive travel required
The job holder will be, occasionally, required to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessitated by the needs of the business, given the nature of the territory.


Degree or MBA, preferably in a business related topic.
Proficiency in English & Thai language is a big plus. We will consider Thai culture knowledge as well (i.e.: having worked with the Thai Market or a Thai product).
Proven experience of working in a FMCG sales environment with commercial accountability.
Experiencing of planning and monitoring budgets.
