Busy Livery Yard and Riding School based in Hamilton are delighted to be able to offer a full-time position as a trainee groom to a hardworking, dedicated person with a genuine love for horses and a willingness to learn.
The candidate will complete though SRUC an SVQ in Horse Care at SCQF level 5 which is a work-based industry recognised qualification.
Please note we are not on a bus route, therefore own transport or alternative means of travel is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Key Tasks- Mucking out stables.
- Turning in and out.
- Grooming and tacking for lessons.
- Feeding and hoof care.
- Holding for vet and farrier.
- Tack cleaning.
- Injury recognition and management.
- Sweeping.
- Leading for lessons.
- Lunging and some ridden work.
- Working towards teaching qualification (if that’s what you want to do).
- Riding to a competent level is an advantage but not essential.
- Friendly and adaptable team player.
- Hardworking to high standard.
