Overview: Join our team at Sellafield as a key player in the Box Encapsulation Plant project, vital to Sellafield's long-term clean-up initiative. This role directly contributes to the safe and efficient execution of lifting operations crucial for waste encapsulation and storage.

Position Summary: As a Crane Coordinator, you'll work closely with the Lifting Manager to ensure the smooth operation of cranes and lifting equipment in accordance with project requirements. Your responsibilities include issuing cranes safely, conducting necessary checks, managing crane documentation, and coordinating with project stakeholders for successful lifting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely issue cranes as per project procedures.
  • Conduct pre-use checks and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Coordinate crane usage to prevent interference with other work groups.
  • Ensure proper lifting documentation is in place.
  • Attend Lifting Operations Site Stakeholder meetings and project briefings.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Coordinate crane isolations with the electrical department.
  • Facilitate maintenance activities within the crane exclusion zone.

Additional Duties:

  • Liaise and coordinate with site personnel and functional teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage simultaneous operations (sim ops) effectively to prevent hazards.

Requirements:

  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Proven experience with various types of overhead cranes.
  • BPSS security clearance or higher.
