Environmental Advisor Join the CWA Team as an Environmental Advisor for the Sizewell C Project Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to contribute to one of the UK's most transformative energy projects? As part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), I am thrilled to invite you to apply for the role of Environmental Advisor. 2-gigawatt power station designed to provide low-carbon electricity to around 6 million homes and ensure a sustainable energy future for at least the next 60 years.
Your Role: Environmental Advisor
As an Environmental Advisor, you'll play a crucial role in guiding our project teams on environmental best practices, compliance, and sustainability initiatives. You'll be responsible for ensuring that environmental considerations are embedded in our operations, from pre-construction through to project delivery.
Regulatory Compliance:Track and analyse new regulations, updating the environmental register to keep the business compliant.
Assist with the development and maintenance of the environmental management element of the COMPASS system.
Waste Reduction:Develop a waste reduction strategy, analyse waste sources, and work with the supply chain to identify improvements.
Performance Reporting:Undertake monthly internal and external environmental performance reporting, including Enablon and CarbonEco metrics.
Knowledge Sharing:Communicate best practices and improvements internally, fostering a culture of environmental awareness.
Pre-Construction Guidance:Provide guidance to pre-construction teams on identifying and managing environmental risks.
Project Support:Offer advice on local regulatory requirements, review and develop environmental management plans, and ensure sites hold all necessary legal licences and permits.
Training and Audits:Deliver environmental training and awareness, and support project sites in preparing for Ecosite and Green Site Office audits.
Incident Management:Assist project teams with managing and investigating environmental incidents and implementing preventive measures.
Experience as an environmental advisor, ideally in the construction sector.
A Bachelors degree in an environmental discipline.
A valid driving licence.
Additional language skills in French (beneficial but not essential).
Encourage new ideas and challenge poor performance constructively.
