Trainee Mechanical Estimator Our Client, a well established and reputable Mechanical & Electrical building services company has an excellent client and sub-contractor reputation. Office located Medway and offering a detailed service to recognised and repeat customers throughout London & the South East of England At this time they are seeking to recruit a Trainee Mechanical Estimator who is enthusiastic, self motivated, a good team player but equally able to work on their own initiative. Package- £25k/ £30k depending on experience and qualifications Job Role/Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems and components.
  • Obtain competitive and accurate quotations from mechanical specialists.
  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid estimates.
  • Gather, analyse, and adjust data related to labour, materials, equipment, and other factors affecting cost estimates.
  • Carry out estimates using electronic packages
  • Learning the process and tender reviews and resolving any issues that have been identified
  • Maintain organised records of all estimates, project proposals, and other relevant documents.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for review by senior estimators and management.
  • Support communication with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and verify scope inclusions.
  • Provide ongoing support and updates to senior estimators throughout the bidding and project development process.
Skills Needed
  • Previous experience of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive and eager to learn with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to understand BOQ's and Drawings for take offs.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Excel/Word & Outlook
  • Ability to liaise and converse with clients in a professional manner.
  • Full UK driver's license
  • A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 9/A* to 4/C, including Maths, English Language and ICT; 1 A Level, or 2 AS Levels (40 UCAS points), or an equivalent qualification such Level 3 BTEC National in a relevant Construction or Engineering subject.
