This role requires deep technical skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to think creatively like an attacker to identify and help resolve security risks.
Key Responsibilities
Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessment
Conduct thorough penetration tests on networks, applications, APIs, and infrastructure.
Use manual and automated tools to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and weaknesses across our digital assets.
Simulate various cyberattack scenarios, including network attacks, application-based attacks, and social engineering exploits.
Develop proof-of-concept attacks to demonstrate the potential impact of vulnerabilities.
Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment
Assess and analyze potential threats to identify the impact and likelihood of exploitation.
Identify risks based on vulnerability assessment findings and recommend mitigation strategies.
Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, business impact, and ease of exploitation.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare detailed, comprehensive reports documenting testing methodologies, vulnerability findings, and remediation recommendations.
Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly explaining the risks and possible impacts.
Develop dashboards and metrics to track the status of remediation efforts and monitor vulnerability management progress.
Collaboration and Security Advisory
Work closely with development, operations, and infrastructure teams to validate, prioritize, and remediate identified vulnerabilities.
Provide technical guidance on secure coding practices, system hardening, and secure network configurations.
Offer insights and recommendations on security improvements for both existing systems and new projects.
Continuous Improvement and Training
Keep up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, tools, and techniques.
Conduct internal training and knowledge-sharing sessions on cybersecurity best practices and emerging attack vectors.
Contribute to the development of the organization's security policies and practices based on test findings and industry trends.
