Kier Construction havean exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor tojoin our successful Manchester commercial team. TheSenior Q.S will enjoy the opportunity to be involved in a range ofhigh value projects at all stages from tender, through PCSAand Delivery phase. Our projects cover a diverse range of D&Bschemes within education, healthcare, commercial, higher education,heritage, aviation and custodial and can be valued anywhere from£15M - £150M

Location:Manchester

Contract: FullTime, Permanent

What will you be responsiblefor?

As SeniorQuantity Surveyor you will take a key role in ensuring thefinancial success of projects, you will be able to add valuethroughout the full lifecycle in a commercial lead capacity or aspart of a wider team as required.

Your day to daywill include, but not be limited to:

  • Advising onfinancial feasibility of projects at early stages
  • Organising the division of projects into component workpackages for procurement.
  • Assessing returnsfrom sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
  • Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chain to achievebest value.
  • Managing applications for paymentfrom sub contractors
  • Preparation ofapplications for payment to clients.
  • Ensuringall additions and variations are costed and logged in line with thecontract conditions.
  • Monitoring and measuringactual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure in the formof CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation Reports)
  • Preparation of finalaccounts

What are we lookingfor?

This roleof Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if youcan:

  • Demonstrate experience working on 2 stage D&Bbids (desired)
  • Strong Knowledge of NEC and JCTcontract conditions.
  • Prior experience ofworking within Main Contracting organisations deliveringconstruction build projects
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering high valueprojects – from £20M up to £100M in value.
  • Confidence in dealing with client reps, sub contractorsand internal stakeholders
  • Ability to mentorand oversee more junior commercial staff.
