This role iswithin the London Live News Team and will support the making of theNews and Current affairs content as well as the hire of the studio toexternal clients. You’ll be the main point of contact for all IT andtechnical issues and advice.

About therole: This is a key role within our News team working bothin the office/studio and remotely. You will get involved in all stagesof the production process from coming up with initial pitches andstories, filming and interviewing, writing scripts and editing finalpieces. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who has someexperience in the industry and are looking to develop certain skills.There will be opportunities to do on-screen reporting and possiblyproducing/outputting of the News at Six programme.

About you:

  • A competent broadcastjournalist with a relevant journalism qualification.
  • Newsroom experience with an in-depth knowledge of media lawand ethics.
  • A motivated individual who is brimming withideas and suggestions for stories and guests.
  • Ability towork alone and as part of a team to create video content and scriptsfor our linear and social media channels.
  • Excellentorganisations skills.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Be comfortable working some anti-social hours on occasion formajor events.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Help pitch, plan and bookguests for future shows, editorially decide what will work for ourviewers
  • Carry out remote and in-person interviews to laterbe broadcast on TV or social media platforms
  • Self-shootingand editing short form pieces for TV and social platforms, usingPremiere Pro Writing and updating scripts/presenter cues
  • Uphold London Live’s values and always work with those inmind.

Skills and Experience:

  • A graduate or postgraduate journalismqualification with sound understanding of media law and Ofcomrequirements, minimum 2 years experience preferable.
  • Proventrack record of creating edited packages for TV broadcast.
  • Highly proficient in using Premiere Pro or equivalent videoediting software
  • Good knowledge of London and what'shappening on the local news agenda Ensure legal and taste and decencyobligations are adhered to.
  • Excellent writing skills and agood understanding of news production.
  • Experience filmingwith a point and shoot or DSLR camera Video editing using Premiere Proor similar.
  • You will have excellent communication skills andenjoy working with people.
  • A good broadcast voice orprevious on camera experience would be an advantage.
