Head of Legal (Sole Counsel) Permanent role Automotive Engineering firm Milton Keynes (Hybrid working)£100K-£125K + benefits The role Prepare, assess, and negotiate diverse commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, licensing agreements, and confidentiality agreements. Provide legal counsel and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters, including identifying potential risks, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and mitigating legal exposure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, procurement, and finance, to ensure contractual terms align with business objectives, negotiate favourable terms, and resolve contract-related disputes in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with the management team providing legal services that are fit for future growth of the business with particular emphasis on commercial law, contract drafting/negotiation, and contract management. Provide and manage a suite of standard contract templates to support project development covering all relevant legal matters. Provide general and commercial legal support to businesses in the Group, including advice on tender proposals, contract drafting, review and negotiation, deal with ad-hoc legal issues. Proactively identify risk areas, collaborating with relevant stakeholders across the business to develop and deliver risk mitigation solutions and compliance across the company. Ensure document management to meet governance and compliance requirements, Become an expert resource for the group on complex regulation Perform duties as company secretary. The requirements Qualified solicitor Experienced in commercial contracts Ideally experience with IP, warranties, product liability Ideally background in working for a manufacturing or engineering firm
