The successful Technical Publications Author will have experience of developing and maintaining product technical manuals, installation guidelines, service schedules and bulletins, spare parts guides, and other technical support documentation.Position Overview: If you are searching for an ambitious and growing company that can offer you fantastic career opportunities in the exciting and growing world of zero emissions technology, then this is the place for you.Responsibilities for Technical Publications Author:* Develop and maintain product technical manuals, installation guidelines, service schedules and bulletins, spare parts guides, and other technical support documentation for the range of products.* Development, Aftersales Service and Marketing to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content.* Research and interpret engineering drawings, models, schematics, and specifications to create comprehensive documentation suitable for product support in the field.* Manage documentation revisions and updates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.* Convert engineering detail into simple, polished and informative content.* Standardise the format and content of our manuals and develop a comprehensive set of documentation.* This role will be office based with the option of hybrid / home working. To work in a manner conducive to safety and with minimised risk to yourself and others.* To report any health and safety matters to your line manager, department representative or H&S Manager* To follow company health and safety rules and policies at all times.* Training will be given on all internal systems in operation presently to ensure you are capable of reaching the required level of competency.* On-going training on products and a detailed understanding of the business will be provided and a training log will be maintained by the candidate.About You:* Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Technical Publications Author in the automotive industry, preferably within the commercial vehicle sector.* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously using a methodical approach.* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all documentation and motivation to demonstrate “right first-time approach”.* Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works) and experience working with engineering drawings and schematics (design skills are not required for this role).* Driven to succeed, meeting critical deadlines and motivation for continuous improvement personal development.* Qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Refrigerant) or Technical Writing related field would be beneficial.* Illustration and authoring software experience.* Willcox Matthews Recruitment Ltd acts an employment business for permanent and contract roles.
