We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of our range of sustainable domestic hydroelectric turbines . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing mechanical and electromechanical systems from concept to production . Responsibilities include engineering mass-produced turbines and bespoke installation structures , collaborating with electronic control system engineers on looms, wiring, and mechanical-electrical interfaces , and leading the development process with good industry practices. The role also involves working with suppliers to ensure parts meet quality and cost standards , as well as participating in hands-on installation, testing, and commissioning of turbines in the field. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative, sustainable energy solutions , to play a key role in bringing them to market and to shape and help build the company.
Create engineering drawings , conduct stress analysis , and develop test requirements for turbines and bespoke structures.
Collaborate with electronics engineers to specify and integrate electrical and control systems .
Work with suppliers to ensure parts meet quality standards at the right cost .
Participate in hands-on installation, testing, and commissioning of turbines in the field.
Identify opportunities for design and process improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field).
~5 Years experience in a relevant engineering role
~ Strong knowledge of stress analysis , including FEA .
~ Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality standards.
~ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks or similar).
~ Hands-on approach – willingness to be involved in field installation, testing, and commissioning.
Collaboration skills – ability to work closely with electronic control system engineers and suppliers.
