5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:15am-3:45pm except for Monday 4:30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
As part of our continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Maths Teacher to join our close-knit team at The School and help develop and drive Maths across the Curriculum. We are a co-educational day school catering for pupils aged 7-18 with a range of complex needs including a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism.
You will contribute to making The Wenlock School an Outstanding provision and a leading light for our young people and their families. The uniqueness of every pupil is recognised and valued at The Wenlock School and our curriculum embraces the community, from which it exists, recognising and celebrating the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our growing cohort. Through our curriculum, we develop the essential knowledge, skills and understanding, which are the building blocks for later life.
Our curriculum encompasses not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but goes beyond the experiences of the classroom to ensure that our pupils are exposed to the richest and most varied opportunities that we can provide. Our aim is to enrich every pupil's school experience by creating an environment where they are encouraged to succeed and be the best they can be. We provide a therapeutic, supportive and inclusive learning environment and are committed to raising achievement and enabling pupils to recognise their potential.
We require an experienced and qualified secondary Maths Teacher who has the ability to make a significant contribution to our school. An additional strength would be a creative, engaging approach to curriculum design and planning both within the classroom and also in the wider outdoor learning environment.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You may have specialist knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum condition or pupils with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Applications are invited from colleagues offering middle leadership experience, from mainstream schools and other educational settings, experience of assessment, planning and delivery of Maths throughout KS3/KS4 is essential.
We are looking for an individual who is able to help inspire and engage the young people that we serve. Previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are also just
07% statutory holiday pay. Our working opportunities include temporary positions, permanent contracts and ad-hoc supply.
Veritas Education work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
