You'll work within a supportive team of experienced professionals, contributing to the safe execution of welding activities throughout the Type 31 unit build process. This includes tasks ranging from piece part creation to panel manufacture and whole ship assembly. Role: Welder Location: Rosyth, Scotland Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:30-17:15 Plenty of opportunities to boost your earnings potential with flexible overtime. Hourly Rate: Competitive + £45 per day travel is paid if you live outside of a 35 mile radius of the docks, this is capped a 5 days Security clearance: BPSS to start, must be able to achieve SC You will be welding various components of the T31 Frigates predominately in vertical and overhead positions. You will have to successfully pass a Welder test regime as part of the recruitment process. What you'll be doing: Carrying out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables and complete visual inspection of finished welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements Maintaining welding plant functionality and carry out daily machine checks, ensuring that any fault is reported immediately Safely setting up and removing any pre-heating equipment Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices The Welder role covers but not limited to; GSFCAW process, SAW process, Grinding, Pre-Heating, Basic Visual Inspection and Control of welding consumables.
