GSL Education is in search of an energetic English Teacher to join a local secondary school in Southampton for a permanent position starting in September 2024.

The school believes in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students can thrive academically and creatively. As an English teacher, you'll have the opportunity to design innovative lesson plans, explore classic and contemporary texts, and guide students in honing their critical thinking and communication skills.

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. The ideal candidate is not only well-versed in the subject matter but also enthusiastic about making English literature and language studies accessible and enjoyable for students of varying abilities.

Deliver engaging and comprehensive English lessons aligned with the school's curriculum standards, ensuring that students are well-prepared for assessments and future academic challenges.
Implement differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to excel.
Utilise innovative and interactive teaching methods, incorporating technology and real-world applications to make English literature and language studies relevant and captivating for students.
Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues to analyse assessment data and refine teaching practices.
A positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for literature and language, promoting respectful behaviour among students.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
Teaching certification in English.
PGCE/QTS/QTLS
Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level is preferred, not mandatory.
Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school’s curriculum.
Passion for teaching and inspiring students.
