About The Role

What is the role?

Reporting to the Energy Manager (EM), as Energy Analyst will support the management of energy revenues from enfinium’s 350MW energy from waste portfolio. This will involve supporting trading activities, PPA and CfD contract management, Capacity Market agreements and ownership of Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) generated.

You would also be involved in supporting the business with the commercial assessment of potential new business ventures and policy developments, PPA and heat contract management and negotiation as well as support in route-to-market PPA negotiations.

As the Energy Manager you would be responsible for the sale and trading of power from the portfolio, this role would offer you the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of wholesale power, gas and carbon markets as well as the trading and execution of financial derivatives and development of price risk management strategies.

What will you be doing

  • Support power sales and energy trading strategy
  • Support energy settlement process
  • Management of private wire and route-to-market PPA and heat agreements
  • Working closely with Operations teams to manage forecasts and outage profile
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Supporting back-office trading and energy settlement process
  • Capacity Market strategy and application process
  • Monetising and managing REGOs and CfD
  • Support in reporting of P&L, price risk management and Budgeting process
  • Public policy for energy, including BEIS and Ofgem relationships

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree or equivalent qualification or experience in technical function
  • 3-5 years of experience with energy producer, supplier or large energy consumer
  • Familiarity with energy supply contracts and/or PPAs and energy procurement
  • Knowledge of UK energy markets and policy
  • Knowledge of carbon markets and policy a plus
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong Excel capabilities
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

  • Ability to think strategically and problem solve effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, MS Project, Powerpoint).
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
