Quantity Surveyor - Permanent - Highways Experience
This is an unrivalled opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join one of the leading SME contractors in the south east of England. The role will be predominantly managing the commercial aspects of various live schemes within our existing frameworks. The varied works will cover building refurbishment, highways maintenance including assisting the delivery of various railway projects.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing and controlling costs throughout the construction project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include estimating, budgeting, cost planning, procurement, and contract administration.
Assist in developing and maintaining project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout
* Monitor and manage variations, valuations, and final accounts for both the client and suppliers.
* Collaborate with project teams to provide cost advice and feasibility assessments
* Prepare and submit progress reports, financial statements, and other documentation as required.
* Review and management of risk and opportunity within the project
* Interface with the client and regular engagement with the commercial counterpart
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction industry over a period of 5 years
* Ideally, previous experience of working in Building refurbishments, Rail and Highways sectors
* Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and legal requirements
* Strong IT skills and ability to use Microsoft packages with good report writing skills
