Director, IT Strategy Consulting, Enterprise Architecture

About the role:
Gartner Consulting is an extension of Gartner’s world-renowned Research. We partner directly with CxOs across industry and government, helping organisations make smarter and faster decisions to achieve their mission-critical priorities.
Our Consulting team is made up of strategists, innovators, consultants, digital experts, former practitioners, and technologists, delivering 2,100+ strategic consulting engagements annually. We deliver unbiased and independent solutions, helping change conventional thinking and accomplish ground-breaking results for our clients.
We are a diverse team of strategic thought leaders. As we continue to grow we look for great people to join us on that journey, and grow with us.
What you’ll do:
As a Director you’ll lead specialist teams of strategy consultants and advise clients at the highest strategic levels. By focusing on how technology helps clients with their mission critical priorities, you’ll act as a subject matter expert within your Industry/Practice areas. You’ll enhance new and existing IP, tools, and methodologies to help your community, while partnering with MPs to develop new expansions to support clients. You’ll direct complex, multi-workstream engagements and be responsible for high-quality deliverables. By building strong relationships that create broader client opportunities, you’ll advise on best-in-class strategy and adoption. Inspiring your team by merit rather than status, you’ll lead by instilling ownership and commitment to excellence.
You’ll help expand Gartner Consulting’s footprint in Architecture, connecting the dots between Enterprise Architecture, Data, Application, Infrastructure and Security Architecture disciplines. Gartner Consulting has a solid position in creating, assessing, and assuring architectures to support Digital Transformation, modernize technologies and increase resilience for organizations. Based on deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture methods and approaches, experience in at least one architecture domain and foundational knowledge of the other domains, the Director plays a pivotal role in solutioning and leading engagements at our clients, creating direct client impact.
What you’ll need:
- Strong experience as an engagement manager within a well-regarded management consultancy.
- Experience in relevant architect roles either within a top tier Consulting or Systems Integration company or within architecture functions of large, global organizations.
- Good understanding and experience within some of the following topics: Enterprise Architecture, Data architecture, Business capability modelling, Cloud Architecture, application architecture.
- TOGAF or any other equivalent industry standard certification is preferred.
- Prior experience in a problem-solving capacity such as a solution/technical architect or analyst preferred.
- Experience working with multiple IT solutions.
- Experience working with Public Sector clients.
- A consistent track record of leading people and building high-performing teams that leverage technology to drive the mission-critical priorities of commercial or government entities.
- An ability to inspire and motivate professionals from both technical and non-technical backgrounds towards a common goal.
- An ability to be hands-on and to manage multiple client priorities simultaneously.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Gartner:
Our approach is simple: Attract the best talent, empower associates to reach their full potential and create an environment where everyone has equitable access to opportunity. We champion personal and professional development celebrating the diversity of our team and promoting a culture of inclusion, belonging, well being and growth.
The results? A diverse, inclusive, supportive workplace where associates can thrive.
Hybrid Working at Gartner Consulting:
In our hybrid, virtual-first environment, our offices provide a place for us to get together to collaborate on projects, catch up with colleagues, meet new team members and more. We want decisions about ‘where to work’ to be governed by ‘the work we need to do’ – whether that’s at client sites, Gartner offices, or remotely from home.
Who are we?
At Gartner, Inc. (NYSE:IT), we guide the leaders who shape the world. Our mission relies on expert analysis and bold ideas to deliver actionable, objective insight, helping enterprise leaders and their teams succeed with their mission-critical priorities.
Since our founding in 1979, we’ve grown to more than 20,000 associates globally who support ~15,000 client enterprises in ~90 countries and territories. We do important, interesting and substantive work that matters. That’s why we hire associates with the intellectual curiosity, energy and drive to want to make a difference. The bar is unapologetically high. So is the impact you can have here.
What makes Gartner a great place to work?
Our sustained success creates limitless opportunities for you to grow professionally and flourish personally. We have a vast, virtually untapped market potential ahead of us, providing you with an exciting trajectory long into the future. How far you go is driven by your passion and performance.
We hire remarkable people who collaborate and win as a team. Together, our singular, unifying goal is to deliver results for our clients.
Our teams are inclusive and composed of individuals from different geographies, cultures, religions, ethnicities, races, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and generations.
We invest in great leaders who bring out the best in you and the company, enabling us to multiply our impact and results. This is why, year after year, we are recognized worldwide as a great place to work.
What do we offer?
Gartner offers world-class benefits, highly competitive compensation and disproportionate rewards for top performers.
