Job Title: HIU Technician Start Date: ASAP Duration: 12 months (possibility to extend to permanent) Job Type: Fixed Term Contract Location: Frequent travel to Exeter and Bath Pay Rate: TBC IR35 Scope: Inside IR35 We currently require the services of a HIU Technician to work in the Exeter and Bristol region. A full UK Driving License is essential as travel is required. Vehicle, tools, laptop and phone provided. You will complete residential and occasional commercial planned and reactive HIU related installation and maintenance activities with a balance of hands-on and managing appropriate resources, for all mechanical, electrical issues that impact/are likely to impact on the operational performance of the District Heating Network (DHN) and communal heating schemes throughout the Exeter, Reading, Bath and Southampton region. Main Responsibilities: HIU Installation and Maintenance activities Servicing Breakdowns Upgrades Installation Commissioning General Plumbing and Heating work (HVAC) Following correct working processes and capturing accurate visit information. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and PPE requirements and following the correct Further Information: Operational and maintenance work on up to c40+ DHN sites (and growing), which a large variety of HIUs, Heat Pumps, AMR and Metering and other technologies. Our market is the District Heating, which is growing at a rapid rate. This is a great opportunity for personal development on District Heating Networks, HIUs and Heat Pump Technology. The role is primarily domestic but with aspects of commercial as well. There are also opportunities to progress to other areas within the business learning new skills and knowledge. Internal training is also available to support any applicant with core skills in DHNs, HIUs, heating and plumbing advancements to develop into the role. Key Skill Requirements: NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent along with significant expertise in general plumbing, heating, mechanical essential, basic electrical advantageous. Hold a Valid Driving License. Domestic gas boiler experience with relevant gas safety registration is an advantage but not necessary. HIU and DHN Experience is an advantage The ability to innovate and appropriately challenge existing processes to improve efficiency. A willingness to develop the site by looking for best practise and ways to improve the plant operational and commercial performance. Competent in understanding risk assessments, procedures, and processes. IT Skills & confidence using computers.
