Indirect Category Buyer – Logistics and Materials

What you’ll do…

As an Indirect Category Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing a variety of indirect materials and services necessary to support business operations. This includes dies and molds, small tools, HSE items, contracts negotiation with Export-import logistic providers, CHAs, 3PL providers, local transporter and other indirect goods and services that contribute to the overall efficiency of the company.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and production, to ensure materials are sourced cost-effectively and in alignment with business needs.

Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Responsible for indirect Purchasing of Capex/Opex Indirect goods and services for an OEM.
  • Manage the sourcing portfolio ensuring transparency of awarding.
  • Lead and manage the RFI, RFQ, Cost Comparison, Zero based costing, Negotiation & awarding process.
  • Establish beneficial working relationships with various internal groups across the organization
  • Negotiate and execute contracts.
  • To prepare and propose cost reduction strategies and category plan to Procurement Lead.
  • Proactively identify risks and create contingency plan to mitigate risk in supply chain to avoid potential disruption on operations.

The team you’ll join…

You will be joining a dynamic group of driven individuals, specialising across many indirect and direct procurement specialisms. Being a relatively new department, you’ll play a critical part in creating purchasing and supply chain processes and a key driver of efficiency, cost-saving and sustainability within the organization.

What you’ll bring…

  • Proven work experience in Indirect Sourcing, mainly in OPEX function for Automotive/Tech Company for Green field or Brown Field Project.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
  • Broad Knowledge about Contract finalization.
  • Strong project management.
  • Prices trends of Pipe, Valves, fittings from Major OEM
  • To work on zero based costing for fabrication Items
  • Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions
  • Capable of managing self-activity planning and sorting priorities as per deadlines and work without supervision.
