Join our Ecosystems Solutions team as our new Senior Marine Biologist and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.
As our new Senior Marine Biologist, you will be key player in a team of biologists/ecologists working on a range of projects spanning several sectors. To succeed in this role you must have an appropriate marine biology post-graduate qualification and be a Member of Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management at the appropriate grade. We would particularly like to hear from you if you have experience of coastal and offshore bird ecology and/or assessing underwater noise impacts on mammals.
Planning and undertaking marine biology assessments and producing high quality reports
Managing small to medium scale projects with input on large scale projects with the support of the marine biology lead
Main point of contact with Ramboll project managers, clients, partner organisations and sub-consultants
Delivering technical work on complex projects
Supervision and management of more junior staff and input to resource planning.
You will be part of a specialist team including ecologists, nature based solutions specialists and ecotoxicologists delivering work in support of sustainable development, including biodiversity net gain, natural capital accounting and ecosystem services. Significant consulting experience on marine biology projects
Appropriate BSc or equivalent qualification with a post-graduate qualification in Marine Biology or comparable subject.
Desirable skills and experience for this role include coastal and offshore bird ecology and/or and assessing underwater noise impacts on mammals.
Good knowledge of relevant environmental/marine legislation
An understanding of the UK marine planning system in relation to development and the integration of marine biology
Proficient user of MS Office software and ideally ArcGIS
Full clean UK driving licence
