Job Title: Construction Site Manager – Private Housing Development
Location: Durham
About Us: Working with a property development firm specialising in high-quality private housing projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Site Manager to oversee a prestigious private housing development.
Job Summary: The Construction Site Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and control of construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires a proactive leader with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee all on-site activities to ensure compliance with the project plan, including scheduling, procurement, and cost control.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and manage the construction team, including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring all work is performed to the highest standards.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that all work meets the company’s standards and specifications.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed, promoting a safe working environment for all site personnel.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues that arise on-site promptly and effectively, minimizing delays and ensuring the project stays on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, site activities, and any changes to the scope of work.
- Budget Management: Monitor project expenditures and ensure that costs are controlled and kept within budget.
- Inspections and Approvals: Coordinate inspections and ensure all necessary approvals and permits are obtained throughout the construction process.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably in private housing developments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Certifications: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
- Attributes: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure.
