User Interface - Control Software Engineer

Our client, a leading Tribology consultancy with over 20 years of expertise is looking for a well-rounded Control Software Engineer to design and build new interfaces for their product on behalf of their international client base across Europe, America, and Asia.
Part of this role will be technically centred with the other half involving travel to client sites all over the world as you will be demonstrating and coaching clients on how to operate the interfaces you create.
You will be immediately joining a large international project in Asia which will require your involvement throughout the lifecycle with the support of the current engineering manager.
Continuous development of front-end software applications to provide a user interface for the Tribology machines.
Programming current and future embedded control and data acquisition systems as well as other manufacturers’ devices including but not limited to; motor drives, process controllers, data acquisition cards etc.
National and international travel to customer sites to assist with commissioning, training, and customer success.
Strong C# coding ability with additional knowledge of Visual Basic. C, C++ is desirable
Valid UK driving licence and passport
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Software, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
Previous experience in the development of software for electromechanical systems.
Previous use of RS232/ RS485, Modbus, Ethernet for Control/measurement instrumentation and data acquisition hardware.
4 day work week: as a continued experiment on from COVID, the company only works Monday - Thursday allowing a longer weekend to spend however you would like

~ Mentorship and coaching from a master engineer with 25+ years experience within Control Systems Engineering and Robotics.
