Based in Worthing and Horsham, the EPS oversees the Portage Service and Mental Health Support Teams in schools, where Educational Psychologists play pivotal roles.
About the Role: As an Educational Psychologist, you'll provide essential services such as advice, consultation, assessment, training, research, and evaluation. Your work will be focused on children with additional needs and difficulties within an Area of the County.
Passion for improving outcomes for children and young people in educational settings.
Dedication to promoting mental health and wellbeing.
Directorate Group: Children, Young People & Learning.
Experience applying psychology with children and young people.
Ability to self-reflect, evaluate performance, and manage time effectively.
Honours Degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification.
Substantial relevant experience in education or children's services.
Completed postgraduate professional training as an educational psychologist.
Commitment to continuing professional development.
Work in alignment with the aims of the Special Educational Needs and Intervention Business plan.
Support schools, including special schools, units, and special needs departments of mainstream schools.
Represent the Educational Psychology Service at multi-disciplinary or inter-service teams.
Contribute to training for teachers and other professionals.
Supervise the fieldwork of students attending courses on educational psychology.
