The role
We are looking for a data savvy analyst or developer to play a key role within our growing IT Solutions team. Utilising your diverse understanding of databases, ETL processes and T-SQL, you will help design, develop and implement solutions that deliver value across the business and support Selwood’s goals.
This is an exciting role where you will get the opportunity to work on new transformational projects, working from user stories to build out bespoke solutions from scratch.
We have a huge focus on personal development and you will be encouraged to take on a specialism within the team, with plenty of resources and support to bolster your skillset and grow as a developer.
We value autonomy and you'll have the freedom to approach problems how you see fit, with the option to work remotely for the majority of the week if you prefer. You’ll have ownership of your projects and a loud voice within the team when it comes to decision making.
What will you be doing?
- Building and running stored procedures
- Manipulating and presenting data
- Contribute to a range of strategic corporate and departmental projects, working within multidisciplinary teams to design incremental improvements and build out new solutions.
- Empower and enable colleagues across the business to take ownership of systems and data and gain value through improved use of IT. Encourages and coach them in adoption and use of existing and new technologies and systems, emphasising best practices.
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to the team to assist with continuous improvement of the processes, techniques and standards in use in the department.
- Design, develop and deliver solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, focussing on Dynamics 365, Dataverse and Power Platform.
What are we looking for?
- Strong experience with T-SQL, data manipulation and ETL.
- Knowledge of databases, specifically SQL Server and associated toolkit
- Experience with stored procedures (ideally with knowledge of Power Automate to run these on a triggered event)
- Experience in programming languages
- Strong, demonstrable problem-solving, analytical, lateral thinking, troubleshooting and investigation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, able to empathise and develop relationships.
- Able to work autonomously; self-motivated, organised and able to take responsibility for planning own tasks and delivering outcomes.
Bonus points for:
- Experience in Dynamics 365, Dataverse/CDS, Power Platform (PowerApps/Power Automate/PowerBi) or other relevant technologies, plus formal Microsoft certifications to associate level.
- Significant experience in a low code or traditional development role working with Microsoft technologies.
