England, United Kingdom Allen & York (Built and Natural Environment) Ltd Full time

Allen & York is delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturer of steel products as they look to recruit a Sustainability Specialist to join the Team and work closely with the Quality & Sustainability Manager to drive sustainability improvements throughout the business, and further afield to their customers and suppliers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior experience in a sustainability role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering setting, who wants to join a highly successful business with a large manufacturing site in Shropshire.

You will be responsible for liaising with a large number of external bodies, including clients, customers and regulatory bodies, as well as collaborating internally with all departments, communicating with engineers in manufacturing right up to the Board, where you'll present data and reports. As such, your stakeholder engagement, communication and report writing skills will be excellent and you may even attend conferences and events as a representative of the business, so you'll need to be comfortable engaging with different audiences.

From a technical perspective, you'll be responsible for a range of tasks, from ESG governance to sustainability reporting and from data studies to managing the material that is put into the public domain.

You will be comfortable and competent working with large data sets and turning these into meaningful reports and you will get the opportunity to travel within Europe to meet customers and suppliers.

This is a site-based role as there is a lot of collaboration with internal departments and you'll be implementing programmes on the ground, however you will be able to work one day from home a week and they are able to offer flexibility around start and finishing times.

We partner with our clients and candidates on roles that build an understanding of climate change, promote sustainability and create inclusive and responsible organisations, working towards a sustainable world for us all. Committed to inclusiveness in the workplace, we aim to increase diversity across all areas and therefore welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, age, or whether or not they have a disability. Let's help build a better world, together
