The Victorian Tap is a stunning Victorian building on the corner of Battle hill and Eastgate in “ The Happiest place to live in Britain“ - Hexham. The Victorian Tap is bursting with character and has a history of good beer trade driven by the local drinkers and tourists visiting the town who all enjoy the great atmosphere the feature of this pub produces. Wood floors and open fires add to the feeling of cosiness, keeping up with the traditional décor of the pub, with local memorabilia an appealing quirk to the surrounding community. The L-Shaped tap room surrounds the traditional central bar which boasts 6 cask ale wickets and a stunning back bar display. A beautifully presented medium sized external seating area can be accessed from the rear of the pub, this area seats 20 with a roof cover and doubles up as a smoking solution.

Hexham is a busy and picturesque market town located on the River Tyne, 20 miles west of Newcastle. The town has a strong historical heritage which attracts visitors from the surrounding towns and tourists from further afield. Historical attractions include Hexham abbey which dates from the 8th century and Hadrian’s Wall which is 30 minutes west of Hexham. Additionally, just outside the town to the south is the popular and picturesque Hexham racecourse.
