Our team of specialist pathologists, scientists, technicians, phlebotomists, couriers, and shared services personnel deliver a world-class service that together collects, analyses, and reports over 7 million patient results annually.
We are seeking an IT Governance and Compliance Advisor to join our dynamic IT team. This newly created position will work closely with the IT Security Manager to develop and enhance our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance policies, and guidelines. This role will ensure our processes align with local and international standards and that our team understands the implications of breaches and non-compliance . This role will also include auditing the digital space and IT assets, including projects, reporting, business improvement, performance measurement, and budget advice.
Assist the ITSM in overseeing the development, implementation, and regular update of IT and Security-related SOPs across all Awanui systems, ensuring communication and compliance.
Perform comprehensive security risk assessments for new or updated IT systems, advising on and implementing necessary controls and treatment strategies.
Plan and manage responses to cybersecurity incidents, and actively identify, classify, and manage security risks.
Advise on and monitor information security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and conducting regular audits to support the integrity of IT operations.
Provide expert guidance on security strategies and technology implementations to minimize risks within the healthcare industry.
Conduct vendor security assessments and support Awanui committees and project teams with expert advice on risk management and information security.
Ensure that all security measures comply with industry standards through regular testing of backup, restore, and data destruction processes.
Have a good understanding of IT security principles and frameworks like ISO 27000
