To provide engineering inputs to the integration, verification, validation & qualification of the communications system in line with company and international standards.
The Communications/Network IVVQ Lead typically works with a team of engineers to the strategy and approach for how the system will be tested, how it will perform and how it will be determined that it is working correctly, and to be accepted by the client.

Designers at all levels (especially Solution Architect & Project Design Authority)

·Project Planners

Be the principal point of contact with the client, to gain approval of test specifications and to host acceptance testing activities.
Authorising the execution of test specifications (according to test plan and project schedule).
Set and agree quality target/standards
Escalate issues to the Systems Engineering Manager where necessary
Provide status reports to the Systems Engineering Manager
Lead investigations of problems in the field or with the systems IVVQ documentation.
Approve, implement and maintain tools relevant to the Systems IVVQ Engineering function.
Lead the production of System IVVQ Engineering estimates at optimum cost.
Produce quality metrics to measure the soundness of the System IVVQ Engineering processes under your control.
Working with project planners to provide detailed input to specific project programs.
Represent System IVVQ Engineering at formal Design Reviews, with particular attention to the reduction of design risks.

Key performance Indicators against Responsibilities and Tasks:
This role is continually monitored for performance and as such some of the following typical Key performance indicators (KPI’s) will be used:

Quality of work produced against agreed standards
Performance against Thales key values
Performance against mandatory training

Linux

Quality of Service (QoS) concepts

·Network security architectures

The Communications/Networking IVVQ Lead are the technical focal point for the IVVQ process and must resolve all issues, problems, questions and conflicts in the entire sub-system. This requires frequent handling of new and unusual issues therefore a proven record of working in an Engineering environment is required.
The success of the Systems Engineering job family relies on the interaction of its engineers at all levels, therefore evidence of team working is required.

Job holders will be expected to perform in line with the Thales Code of Practice, Policies and Procedures.

HNC/HND/Engineering Degree or equivalent
