Tax Specialist

Job Type: Part-time/Permanent (20 hours per week), Hybrid/Remote/Office-based
Do you enjoy providing a 5-star service to your clients? A leading forward-thinking accountancy practice specialising in property investment and advising ambitious business owners iscurrently seeking a part-time Tax Consultant to be the initial point of contact for our clients’ tax queries. This role offers a blend of remote and office-based work, with a focus on delivering specialised tax projects and providing strategic advice. Act as the primary contact for client queries, such as regarding tax structures, property transfers, SDLT implications, extracting profits, share buybacks, etc.
Review self-assessment tax returns prepared by junior staff and other team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Lead training and knowledge-sharing sessions to keep the team updated on tax changes, implications and opportunities.
Attend calls and meetings with key clients to identify tax-saving opportunities and provide strategic advice.
Manage and deliver specialised projects such as setting up family investment companies, linked investment companies, obtaining EIS status and more.
Manage and deliver intricate projects like demergers, incorporations, trust formations and inheritance tax planning, working with contractors and white-label service providers.
Ensure clients operate in the most tax-efficient manner, focusing on the optimization of their company structures and operations.
Develop and maintain expertise in the property sector's specific tax rules, including VAT rates, group asset transfers, and distinctions between trading vs. investment statuses .
CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (if ACA / ACCA or no qualification then demonstrable experience with tax matters will be required)
Strong understanding of tax legislation and the ability to navigate HMRC manuals and subscription services.
Experience in managing and delivering specialised tax projects.
Ability to work effectively with contractors and within a team.
Relevant tax qualifications and experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice are highly desirable.
Knowledge of the property sector's specific tax rules and regulations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of implications and practicalities of setting up in Dubai is highly desirable.
Competitive pro-rata salary of £55,000.
~ 3% pension contribution.
~ Comfortable and modern office environment.
~23 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays(pro-rated for part time)
